COFFEE PRINCE

Synopsis:
It is a norm of the Korean trendy drama to hi
ghlight a particular profession, whether it be a shoe designer, model, doctor or lawyer. “Coffee Prince” highlights the life of a barista-to-be and the café of handsome men at which her works.This drama is based from a romantic comedy manga by writer Lee Sun Mi.

Go Eun-chan (Yoon Eun-hye) is a bright young girl who works multiple jobs to help keep her family afloat. Yet thanks to an immature mother and a clueless sister, she often finds herself in need of more work. With a foolish mother and the need to look after her younger sister, “pretty boy” Go Eun Chan has to give up her feminine image to help support the family with multiple jobs. Because of her previous experience with Tae Kwon Do, Eun Chan has quite the bold and opinionated personality. Choi Han Kyul seems to know women well and thinks of himself as a great guy.

One day, a great opportunity lands in her lap, it’s the chance to work at a café – but there’s a catch. This coffee shop only hires good-looking males. Strapping down her chest, Eun-chan takes on the disguise of a male, causes misunderstandings among her co-workers, and discovers her dream of becoming a barista.

Choi Han-gyeol (Gong Yoo) owns the coffee shop. Good-looking, smart and heir to an extremely rich grandmother, he is a bit of a slacker with no intention of being tied down to one career. In an effort to anchor him, his grandmother orders him to take over and expand the coffee shop. He does so reluctantly at first, but soon discovers the charm and attraction of the gourmet coffee business. The problem is, he’s starting to doubt his own sexual orientation because of a certain feminine boy, and it’s driving him crazy!

Han Kyul hires Eun Chan to avoid an arranged marriage by pretending to be romantically linked to a “gay” Eun Chan. But Choi Han Kyul slowly starts to develop feelings for her, but still doesn’t believe in love. Eun Chan also starts to have feelings for Han Kyul but can’t confess that she’s a woman, Han Kyul, continues thinking that the agonized Go Eun Chan is a man. Choi Han Kyul thinks he’s experiencing feelings of homosexuality towards her, and gets heartsick. This side of him was drawn in a risky but fun way.

The part when he discovers that Go Eun Chan is a
woman is shown in an undemanding way, and the story doesn’t concentrate on just these two people, but also on the other people who frequent Coffee Prince. These people are shown one by one in a natural way, and since the story isn’t just about romance but about the natural conflicts of all the characters

“Coffee Prince” is the humorous story about a group of young (and good-looking) people who discover love and hope within the gourmet coffee business.

Cast:

* Yoon Eun-hye as Go Eun-chan
* Gong Yoo as Choi Han-gyeol
* Lee Seon-gyun as Choi Han-seong

WITCH YOO HEE

Review::

Male housekeper, female witch, french cuisine, jjang myun (noodles and black bean sauce with minced pork), bad father, caring x-girlfriend mixed well in this drama.

synopsis::

As the director of her father's advertising company, Ma Yoo Hee (Han Ga In) is known as a witch for her ruthless, no nonsense character. After a string of failed attempts to hire a housekeeper, she (literally) runs into Chae Moo Ryong (Jae Hee), ex-medical student turned aspiring chef. As a way to work off his debt for crashing into her car, he agrees to become her housekeeper and personal love affairs coach for one month. Gladly, he gives her a makeover that attracts both her old friend Johnny Kruger (Dennis Oh) and her first love Joon Ha (Kim Jeong Hoon). Despite having a girlfriend, Sung Mi (Jun Hye Bin), Moo Ryong eventually finds himself falling for Yoo Hee.The drama started off average but there is a will power to continue to watch but the will power seems like doesn't last long as I can personally predicted what will happen.This gives a bad benchmark for this drama but basically not from the actors and actresses but rather on it's storyline itself.It is not attractive or so funny like it's title.The hero acted well though the heroine is just so so (I'm not fond of her anyway).What rather irritates me is that the hero change his love and care for his kind,gentle and helpful girlfriend (school mate) for this tomboy,witch heroine.I can't feel any strong love chemistry between the hero and heroine.The male villain (heroine's former senior school mate) even makes me wanna puke.He may look handsome but it seems that he really can't afford to smile not to mention laugh on the scene.The hero's ex girlfriend was the victim in my opinion.Her love is not accepted (She's pretty).The korean mix chef hero was the most gentle among all as I assume he should be the main hero.The supporting actors and actresses managed to pull some humour into this drama but just some scenes.I almost giving up watching this drama about 60% of the remaining episodes but force to continue.The ending?I think we can guess it anyway.Honestly it didn't make my day but luckily some good songs that are listenable over and over again inserted in this drama.
